The way public services are delivered in Scotland is changing. Public expectations are rising and ministerial commitments are focused on building high-quality, sustainable and impactful services that meet the needs of Scotland’s people now and in the future.

Our strategic framework, and the activities that will deliver it, align completely with this vision.

DS30 is based on one clear commitment: to continue to shape a safer Scotland. To deliver this, collaboration, agility and optimised service delivery will be at the centre of our activities.

With this in mind, we have developed this strategy in a way that recognises collaboration starts at home. Instead of having our goals set in specific services or themes, we understand that we need a range of skills, expertise and perspectives for us to be successful. Integrating our services is not just about our systems. It is about how we work across disclosure, barring and PVG and what support we need from corporate services and our people.

Becoming a truly data-led organisation needs strong information management expertise, legal compliance, policies and processes, as well as technology and supportive and effective training to present, analyse and use data in a proactive and productive way.
