Laws that currently govern our work include:
- Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007
- Age of Criminal Responsibility (Scotland) Act 2019
- Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020

New laws that change our work
On 1 April 2025 we changed our services to implement the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
This included:
- fewer disclosure levels
- changes to PVG scheme membership
- new referral powers for councils and integration boards
