PVG scheme members email addresses
If you are a current PVG scheme member, who has not moved to the new five-year scheme membership, we will be contacting you in the future. We will contact you using the email address we have on record for you. If you did not provide us with your email address, or cannot remember if you did, it is very important that you tell us now.
Please email dsupdate@disclosurescotland.gov.scot with the subject header ‘Email address update’, and include your:
- name
- date of birth
- PVG scheme number
- current email address
We will use your email address to contact you about your PVG scheme membership.
If we do not receive an update from you directly, we may contact your employer to obtain this information. If you do not have an email address, please let us know of any alternative contact details.
Resources for customers
Our resources page has a range of guidance to help you understand your legal obligations and how to use our services. This includes written guidance, short videos, pre-recorded webinars and e-learning guidance, and has sections on:
- helping you with your use of the PVG scheme
- guidance on the disclosure application process
This section also includes specific guidance for parent run groups, sports organisations, community placement services, health services and local authority committees.
We regularly review our guidance to ensure that it meets our customer needs. Please ensure that you always refer to the latest version on our website. If you have any feedback on our guidance resources, please contact our Customer Engagement Team (customerengagement@disclosurescotland.gov.scot).
New guidance
Community placement
We have added new guidance for foster care, kinship care and adoption services, to our website, to help you assess when PVG scheme is required. This guidance is intended to help organisations in those sectors decide which types of roles require PVG scheme membership, and when other types of disclosure are available.
Regulated roles carried at another organisation’s premises
We have added new guidance to provide clarity in scenarios where individuals carry out regulated roles in sites hosted by other organisations such as schools or hospitals.
This will be helpful for different scenarios, with examples included of faith-based organisations working in schools or charitable organisations whose work takes place in hospitals or care homes.
This guidance clarifies who is responsible for obtaining PVG checks in these scenarios, and the role that the host organisation can have.
Invoice purchase order numbers
If you wish to add a purchase order number to your Invoice, please send the number to DSFinanceOps@disclosurescotland.gov.scot before we generate your month end invoice. This should cover a minimum of three months.
Annual subscription fee
Organisations who are registered with us are asked to make sure you pay your annual subscription fee within 14 days of receiving the Invoice. This is important to maintain your organisation’s registration as an accredited body with us.
New learning for voluntary organisations
Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services (VSDS) have recently published new learning on an organisation’s duty to refer. You can read more about the learning on their recent newsletter.
