Cabinet Secretary visits Disclosure Scotland
Cabinet Secretary for Education, Culture and Gaelic, visited Disclosure Scotland to meet with staff and hear directly from them about the work Disclosure Scotland does.
MÃ iri McAllan, Cabinet Secretary for Education, Culture and Gaelic, visited Disclosure Scotland on Wednesday 22 July 2026, meeting with staff to recognise the organisation's contribution to safeguarding in Scotland.
During the visit, Ms McAllan had the opportunity to hear directly from staff about the work Disclosure Scotland carries out, including the digital service improvements, and the new PVG scheme membership model.
Ms McAllan paid tribute to the organisation's strong track record of delivering safeguarding, major policy and digital transformation programmes successfully, on time and within budget.
Speaking during the visit, Ms McAllan said:
"Your work underpins Scotland's reputation as a world leader in safeguarding, through the operation of the continuous monitoring system and the National Barring Service, helping to protect children and vulnerable adults across the country.
"I want to thank you for your achievements to date and for the commitment you show every day. As we look ahead, the reforms you are helping to deliver will be an important part of our wider ambitions to improve public services, support sustainable economic growth and contribute to our efforts to tackle child poverty."
